It was an sparkling summer afternoon floating the Swan River and I watched one beautiful view after another while paddling by. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sit in my kayak and paint this inspiring glimpse of nature in action. This was painted in the studio from that memory and a snapped photo. These little mergansers swam up and down the river following their mother. During our time at Granite Cabin we watched as they grew steadily larger but we also noticed that their number were fewer.
