In Celebration of Giorgio, 10” x 8”, pastel
Today, I’m honoring Giorgio Dimichina with a small painting of shasta daisies and lavender from my garden. Giorgio, and his wife Susan, were my parents’ neighbors for well over 2 decades. His kindness and generosity in helping my parents in their senior years was one of many examples of the compassionate man Giorgio was. He was also an accomplished fine art painter showing his work in Laguna Beach, CA. He mentored both my mother and me in our painting endeavors and was always so encouraging and supportive. I count him as one of my earliest influences who helped me realize that I, too, could become a painter. Giorgio passed from this life much too early. I miss his words of wisdom and thoughtful insights not only about art but about living a meaningful life.
Rest in peace, Giorgio—you are forever in our hearts.
