Day 6 of the Strada Challenge

The Old Bridge, 6″ x 8″, pastel

I love “old” Montana with its broken down and sometimes abandoned areas. This painting is of an old bridge very close to our home, or at least, what’s left of it. It was used to get across Hunger Creek when we first moved here 18 years ago. It has been abandoned and as you can see, it’s slowly rotting away and falling into the creek which is a few feet below.

I liked how the strip of sunlight separated the background from the foreground and how the light filtered through the foliage of the trees. The area is covered heavily in pine needles which gives everything a warm glow.
