Day 3 of the Strada Challenge.
This morning I decided to wait for the evening light. I chose a spot on our trail down to the lake looking into the forest. The sun was still well up when I started but by the time I had finished an hour and a half later, the sun had set. The sun seems to be setting faster these days—a sure sign that fall is coming.
I love how the warm hues of the ponderosa pine bark catch the light and turn it a beautiful shade of dark peach. The orange color contrasts beautifully with the cool dark shadows and the teal water.
A photo of my setup as I continued to work on the painting even though the light had changed.
