Painting at Bibler Gardens

The Bibler Gardens series of paintings was completed in the summer of 2022 and the spring and summer of 2023. The goal with this series was to explore the gardens and develop painting skill and techniques to tackle the unique challenges of garden landscapes. The challenges include the amount of green to contend with, which can often be overwhelming, the riot of color in the varieties of flowers, the textures of the plant life, simplifying a scene so that it’s easier to read, and those always unexpected surprises that can ruin a painting or make it a crowning success!

The reason these paintings are lower in price than most of my other paintings is because I consider these paintings “studies.” They were completed onsite at Bibler Gardens as studies for possible larger works. These studies had finishing touches added in the studio and are all on archival board using only the highest quality materials.
