Moving into the second half of the month, truth be told, I find that I’m flagging a bit. I know that this is the point of the challenge, to make painting a daily practice. You are all helping to keep me motivated—thank you! So I’ll tough it out while I wait for my second wind to hit.

I went back to the tulips while they’re fresh and created a more horizontal set up (thank you, Richie Carter). The set up was more complex today but having painted a single tulip yesterday, I found that I “knew” the flower better. Yesterday, I would have been overwhelmed to paint three, today it felt comfortable.

It started to snow this morning and it hasn’t stopped all day. It’s finally starting to feel like winter once again. Maybe I’ll even get outdoors with my cross country skis after all. In February though!
